TEDxMSU is an independently organized TED event that takes place annually at Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing, Michigan. The first TEDxMSU event was held in 2010 and has since become one of the largest and most anticipated events on campus.

The idea to bring TED to MSU came from a group of students who were passionate about spreading ideas and promoting innovation on campus. They saw TEDx as a way to bring together students, faculty, and community members to share ideas and inspire change. With the help of faculty advisor Dr. Prabu David and a dedicated team of volunteers, they were able to organize the first TEDxMSU event in just a few months.

The first event, held in the Wharton Center for Performing Arts, featured a diverse lineup of speakers who shared their ideas on a variety of topics ranging from sustainability to entrepreneurship. The event was a huge success, with over 800 people in attendance and a live stream that reached thousands more.

After several successful years, the event went on a break in 2013 but was rebooted the following year with even greater success. Since then, TEDxMSU has grown in size and scope, attracting a wide range of speakers from across the country and even around the world. Past speakers have included industry leaders, researchers, and activists, all sharing their unique perspectives on the theme of the year.

Over the years, TEDxMSU has become a staple of the MSU community, inspiring countless individuals to think differently and pursue their passions.

In addition to the live event, the talks held at TEDxMSU have reached over 5 million views on YouTube. TEDxMSU has also expanded beyond just a one-day event, with a variety of year-round programs and initiatives designed to promote innovation and idea sharing on campus. These programs include speaker series, workshops, speaker reveal events and now a Marketplace.

Over the years, TEDxMSU has become a staple of the MSU community, inspiring countless individuals to think differently and pursue their passions. It has become a platform for MSU students, faculty, and community members to share their ideas and connect with others who are passionate about creating positive change in the world.

As the TEDxMSU team continues to push the boundaries and explore new ways of promoting innovation and idea sharing, there is no doubt that the event will continue to inspire and captivate audiences for years to come.
